“It’s hard to pick a favorite part of our wedding as there were so many highlights and special memories which we will remember for a lifetime. Despite rain in the forecast for the entire weekend, the skies cleared and we had beautiful weather the whole time. After a few minor hiccups early on, including the truck containing most of our decor having been stolen the night before, our wedding was absolutely perfect. The only downside was how fast it all went. We wish we could re-live it every weekend. Being surrounded by so many friends and family who traveled both near and far to share in our love and celebration was far more than we could have wished.
We happened to be getting married on the same day as the Royal Wedding, which was really fun as my bridesmaids and I enjoyed watching the televised event while getting our hair and makeup done. It helped set the mood for the rest of the day. Our ceremony was extremely special; we had carefully thought out and planned every detail which made it uniquely “us” while still keeping traditional elements. Our reception was beyond fun. The blend of Southern and Asian fare made for a delicious dinner, followed by cookie cake and flaming donuts for dessert. Each table was named after a different city Jon and I have visited together throughout our seven-year relationship and included a picture of us in that locale. This helped bring a personal touch to the reception. Our band, Atlanta Rhythm and Groove, was absolutely incredible. They really know how to read a crowd and had people on the dance floor all night. We did not want to leave! To top off an already amazing night, we left the venue in the Ramblin’ Wreck, which was a fun and special surprise for the many Georgia Tech alums, including us, at our wedding.
